High-Stakes Hand Analysis: Why Elite Regs Fire a 3x Overbet Bluff on the River
Unpacking blockers, range asymmetry, and the real-time decision-making models of world-class players.
The hand
In a legendary high-stakes hand, the hero 3-bet preflop, check-called the flop, then fired a massive 3x pot overbet on a flush-completing river.
Why it works
His holding blocked the villain's premium flush combinations, while the villain's checking line capped their range. A 300 bet into 100 needs 75% folds to break even — against a capped, blocker-starved range, that number is attainable.
The lesson
Do not copy the size. Copy the order: count the villain's strong combos, check what your hand blocks, then choose a size.
